Abstract
The language class may originate characteristic behaviours which involve the linguistic level as well as the discursive level. This work aims to analyze the reflective activities dealing with communication itself (metacommunicative activities) and language as a code (metalanguage activities). Based on the presented examples we conclude that these activities can be accomplished by both students and teachers through code switching; and they work as an expressive and communicative resource.
