Abstract

Using the metaphor of the observatory platform; this paper goes through a whole vision of the lexical borrowing and the terminological anglicism as used in Spanish specialized discourse. A descriptive and applied study on the non-adapted Terminological Anglicism (ATI; in Spanish) is then described. Both specialized and non-specialized written texts in the field of computer science of the Spanish varieties of Spain and Venezuelan; were chosen. Then; ATI’s behavior at morphological; morphosyntactic; semantic and textual levels was analyzed on a corpus-based methodology. Finally; a typology for this type of linguistic unit is proposed together with algorithms that may be used in computer programs for morphological tagging and terminology extraction.
