El análisis definicional como un método de investigación semántica: Un ejemplo de aplicación

Abstract

The article deals with the definitional methodology developed in the U.R.S.S.; according to it lexicographic definitions of the words under analysis are studied. That allows us to reveal a net of semantic relations that could exist between the words. A group of English verbs with the meaning of "giving" was investigated. The analysis done permitted to single out common semantic components and distintive features of these verbs and confirmed our hypothesis that these words form a lexicosemantic group.
