Cohesiones nominales con demostrativos

Abstract

This essay studies the cohesive functions of nominals determined by demonstratives; taking as a basis the corpus of the “Habla culta de la Ciudad de Mexico” (Lope Blanch (ed.) 1981). The relations that are established between the cohesive nominal and the nominal of coreferrential base will be explored; in particular; this work looks at how the nominal of the coreferrential serves as a guideline for the cohesive nominal which incorporates in itself or synthesizes the above in the coreferrent; either via a single nominal or through an entire enunciation. This discussion will also present the kind of nominal that functions as a cohesive in constructions with demonstratives and that responds to the said nominals within its semantic extent and limitation. Finally; the relation established between cohesive nominals extended as a coreferrent base will be examined.
