Infinitivo en función sustantiva en el español del siglo XVI

Abstract

In this work; the author analyzes the process whereby an infinitive is able to function as a noun. The author takes on account two factors: the distribution and the semantics of the nominalized infinitives. As normal characteristics concern; it is examined the concurrence of the infinitive with adjective forms that usually modify a noun. As to the semantics of the nominalized infinitives; it is interesting to indicate that these verbs lack of procesuality; that is; they are not action verbs; such as: Recibi el poder que me enviaste. Hizo una casa de placer.
