Relaciones locativas tempranas; evidencias de comprensión

Ernesto Bartolucci

Abstract

This work; framed in the interaccionist tradition (Vigotsky; de Lemos; Camaioni; Carneiro de Toledo); concerns early stages in the acquisition of locative relations in language; as expressed by means of verbs. I have analyzed the locative scenes together with the adult linguistic productions that accompany them; searching for evidence of comprehension (e.g.; children’s actions) in order to find out what type of relation is established between the context - and the information it may contain - and the child’s (evidence of) comprehension. I have found two types of interactional linguistic schemes: 1- The less frequent scheme; characterized by its high regularity: in this cases; a high correlation is found between type of locative relation; adult's linguistic coding and child's comprehension. 2- The most frequent one; characterized by high irregularity: context is complex; coding is variable and child's comprehension is variable as well In the second case; locative relations are mostly coded by means of a prototypic verb; superordinate together with codification variants; which paraphrase the locative relations and belong to a more specific semantic domain. Concerning the first locative verbs the child produces; it is to be noted that they correspond to:
1. The verbs used in the regular interaction scenes.
