JURETHES: Una red semántica jurídica

Abstract

JURETHES is a semantic and terminological legal network which assists the users of UNAM-JURE; a legal information retrieval system. For the design of any legal semantic network we propose the combination of sense relations (hyponymy and part-whole relationships) with relationships taken from the logic of norms among deontic entities (subjects; permissions and obligations). This logic of norms does not contradict the principles of any linguistic system. Therefore; those deontic unities and relationships can be observed in the syntax and semantics of any text where norms are formulated. The terminology obtained from legal texts is conceived as a linguistic manifestation of deontic entities.
