Abstract


Enumeration is a paratactical sequence of tone groups; related to a variety of syntactic structures; which ideational-semantic function is to precise generic meanings; describe a chronological sequence; or listing. However; its modality can vary in accordance with the speaker's attitude towards the ideational meaning; verbal situation; or hearer's attitude. Enumerations are between given and new information: they show different ways to precise information. In Spanish; focus is marked not only by tone; but loudness and length.
