Función discursiva de los conectores causales en textos infantiles

Abstract


This paper seeks to describe the syntactic behavior of causal nexus in children ’s writings. Specially; we want to analyze whether a close connection exists between the syntactic relation that is established by the causal nexus and the pragmatic functions accomplished by them. We also want to see whether these relations present themselves in early stages of children’s writings.In this study we follow the distinction proposed in Herrera L.; (1988); for syntactic analysis; and the distinction for the pragmatic functions proposed in Kyratzis; Guo & Ervin-Tripp (1990).The corpus for this paper consists of 180 children’s writings; from second to sixth elementary school’s grades (2nd; 4th; and 6th). The children belong to three different socio-economic levels.
