Reflexiones y propuestas acerca de las relaciones de significación entre cultura y lenguaje

Abstract


This work presents some thoughts and proposals about the relationship between language and culture; from the perpective of foreign language teaching. It looks at some detected problems which are connected with the tools that teachers can use. We shall point out that the emergence of the Comunicative Approach; with all its cultural aspects and meaning implications; make the task of teachers a complex labour that requires new instruments; derived from a wider concept of language; and which aims at avoiding inconsistencies with the objectives of a Communicative Approach program. This article attempts to study the problem and to offer some guidelines derived from semiotics.
