Una nueva aportación a la descripción del continuum norteño en documentación del nordeste peninsular ibérico

Asier Romero Andonegi

Abstract

In the work the documents of the Basque Country are compared with those of the geographical environment to determine the principal linguistic characteristics (graphical-phonetic and lexical) and to establish possible affinities in the frame of the varieties or dialects of the peninsular northwest. One concludes that the tradition escrituraria of the Basque Country is of net Castilian filiation; which allows to deduce that the diversions observed with regard to the standard have linguistic foundation; reflection of the autochthonous uses of the scribes; in which undoubtedly there sublies the presence and knowledge of a common language; the Basque.
