Códices coloniales en contexto: Las pasiones de los conquistadores

Ma. Eugenia Gómez de Mas

Abstract

This article presents the first part of a study in discourse analysis that situates in a historical context two pictographic litigious documents of the XVI century. In a social and cultural situation of conquest and colonization, the power abuse is a current matter. The passions that domination and subjection produce are deep and plural; they arise from the conqueror, who has his own. This work presents some of them: punishment, rejection, compassion and love. The pragmatic semio-discursive approach is the frame of the work.
