Ensayo de explicación diacrónica de un uso sincrónico de las categorías transitivas e intransitivas del japonés

Guy Leclair

Abstract

Many European and American grammarians have had difficulties in arriving at a formal presentation of the characteristics italic distinguish transitive and intransitive verbs in Japanese. In contemporary Japanese; it is possible to suppress all the verbal; adjectival and nominal determiners in the predicate without the predicative element losing its meaning or function. The transitive and intransitive categories are here analyzed morphologically in relation to the use of specific markers in Japanese.
The diachronic treatment of the relationship between transitivity and intransitivity helps to explain a synchronic fact from a scientific and pedagogical point of view.
