Estereotipos sobre los Estados Unidos de América en la enseñanza de lenguas extranjeras

Abstract


This article reports on stereotypes found in a variety of qualitative studies carried out in Mexico and Canada with teachers/students of French; German; English and Spanish. Stereotypes about Northamericans appeared as collateral results not as primary findings and directed attention to their importance pedagogically. Social Identity and Social Judge ability Theories were used to explain this phenomenon.
