En busca del texto literario perdido

Abstract

The place of literary texts in the past and present of foreign language teaching is analysed in this lecture and some hypotheses about their slow and partial disappearance from language courses in the last decades are presented. Today theier is a growing interest in literary texts because of their specific linguistic and cultural characteristics which require special attention from reader and students. The inclusion of poetic texts in some L2 courses written in Mexico and abroad is also commented. Some proposals aste made for pedagogical activities starting from literary readings in the beginners courses of foreig languages.
