Abraham Hernández Cubo

Abraham Hernández Cubo completed two degrees in German (2004) and English (2005) studies, as well as a Postgraduate Teacher Training Certificate (2005), at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). Prior to that he had also studied a degree in Film Direction (2003) at the Film School of Madrid (ECAM). From 2005 onwards he has taught Spanish as a foreign language in several countries (Spain, Germany, New Zealand and Australia) to students of different ages and educational stages. In 2015 he starts working as a teacher at the Spanish department of La Trobe University (Australia), where he also completes a Master of Applied Linguistics (2017). While studying this master’s degree, Abraham focuses his research on the field of Spanish as a foreign language and especially on standard language ideologies and the attitudes towards dialectal variation in this area. At present, Abraham is studying a PhD at the University of Melbourne (Australia).
