Abstract


One of the most important problems for Spanish speakers who are learning English is the inadequate production of cohesive texts. The aim of this study is to find evidence of the lack or defective use of personal reference ties in compositions produced by adult learners of English as a foreign language and to propose some strategies for the teaching of personal reference ties in order to help learners to produce cohesive texts.
