Adquisición de los alófonos fricativos de las oclusivas sonoras españolas por aprendices de español como segunda lengua

Abstract


This paper intends to describe the stage of interlanguage in the acquisition of the Spanish voiced spirant allophones in five learners of Spanish as a second language. The analysis shows that these subjects are midway in their acquisition process; since they correctly produced these sounds in fifty per cent of the obligatory phonetic contexts. Due to the scarcity of the data; the results cannot be generalized as descriptive of the ACTFL Intermediate level. Nevertheless; it is suggested that additional studies on higher number of subjects could contribute to such generalization. In addition; similar studies on the acquisition of other aspects of the Spanish phonology would  complete the description of the phonological level. Such vast project should be the task of all teachers of Spanish willing to collect data from their students in a systematic way; and to submit these data to the appropriate acoustic-phonetic analysis.
