Update of the Morfolex corpus from the 23rd edition of the Dictionary of the Spanish Language

Abstract

This paper lists the 533 words that lost their neological status in the Morfolex corpus due to their inclusion in the 23^rd edition of the Spanish Language Dictionary (DLE, for its acronyms in Spanish). These words were given a neological status because they were not registered in the exclusion list associated with the corpus, which includes this academic dictionary, among others. We also describe the updating process of the corpus which involved the revision of the status of 6000 listed neologisms. The processes and tag types added to words that match a new entry in the dictionary are described. Likewise, we show the morphological analysis that was carried out to identify the most frequent word-formation schemes and the words with more occurrences in the excluded records. Finally, a comparison is made with productivity data that were calculated before the adaptation process.
